Hello readers, i am going to share my experience in travelling to Salem from chennai in Shatabdi express (12243). Few days before my travel i was googling to get details about shatabdi express but i could not find any detail, so i thought why not share my experience to the travelers which would be beneficial for them.
Price of the ticket from Chennai to Salem was Rs.650 and journey time was 4.15 Hours ( 7:15 AM to 11: 25 AM)

Started my journey from my residence in my bike to chennai central and parked the bike behind the central station where there is parking space for bike and they charge Rs. 20 for 24 hours (Dated: 10th sept 2016). There is no shed and no guaranteed safety for the bike and carry a lock for your helmet.
Non-Veg Breakfast:
1 egg omlet
Few potato veggies
After your breakfast around 9:10 AM you get a juice (Real fruit juice)
Then two more hours of journey by 11.25 AM, reached salem.
After returning back from salem to chennai central, i went to grab my bike from the parking lot. Found my bike and helmet completely wet due to rain, gave my parking ticket and started to my residence.

Shatabdi express chennai to coimbatore Starts from chennai central railway station at 7:15 AM.
The train is Air conditioned and well cleaned with comfortable seats. The seat looks similar to seats in flights. The above pic is of CC chair car which has two seater on left and three seater on right. Executive class has similar arrangement but with larger seats and foot space with two-two seater on both the sides.There you will also have a Train Hostess who will be serving food in time intervals.
After the train starts its journey, around 7:30 AM the guy will give you a Newspaper, which i received was Deccan chronicle (english). Later on One liter water bottle ( rail neer ).
At 8 AM, you will be served with hot Tea and biscuits ( 2 Marie biscuits )
As soon as you finish your tea, you will get the breakfast with two options: Veg & Non-Veg
Veg breakfast Menu:
2 Small dosa
1 Vada
one cup sambar
one cup chutney
2 slice bread
1 pack Butter & JamNon-Veg Breakfast:
